Burnett Heads businessman Clinton Brett of Diesel Help Australia has won the inaugural Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association 2024 Automotive Education Excellence award for his work in common rail diesel training.

Clinton Brett has worked in the industry since 1990 and founded Diesel Help Australia after he saw an increasing need for specialised aftermarket training in the diesel vehicle industry.

“I am proud to be the chosen winner of the inaugural AAAA 2024 Automotive Education Excellence award,” Clinton said.

“With over 30 years of experience, I founded Diesel Help Australia 10 years ago due to the shortage of aftermarket common rail diesel training and today there’s room for more.

“It’s an honour to be awarded for our face to face, group packages, and online training courses.

“I would like to thank the AAAA and the judges who recognised our achievements as the best in class.”

Clinton’s wife Jodi secretly nominated him for the national award, which recognised the best and brightest of the automotive aftermarket industry at a banquet in Melbourne in April.

Clinton said he works on the motto “see, think, act”, similar to that of award sponsor ZF Friedrichshafen AG, which motivates him to continue building his training systems.

“We are an evolving industry,” he said.

“I continue creating training on all applications of diesels systems.

“As the winner of this prestigious award, I ask Australian technicians to step up and have a go at delivering training.

“I’ve witnessed the talent shared on social media and most vehicle owners won’t appreciate your skills as much as the next generation of automotive technicians.”

When it comes to training, Clinton said he thought automotive technicians deserved to have options.

“Technicians are missing out on valuable training in their area,” he said.

“Whether it’s diesel, EFI, EV, hybrid or powertrain training, workshops will appreciate your efforts to improving and lifting the industry as a whole.”

Diesel Help Australia offers online resources, over the phone diagnostic services, technical bulletins, training and other services for members.
