Gin Gin families are invited to come along for a fun morning of play and entertainment at the Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre Family Frolics Fun Day on Wednesday 15 May.
Held during National Families Week, with the theme ‘Celebrating Family Diversity and Connections’, the Family Frolics Fun Day is open to all children aged 0-8 years and their families.
Coordinated by Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre and Child and Family Support Services, the program includes indoor and outdoor play activities, entertainment, and information from service providers.
Council’s Community Resilience and Connection Portfolio spokesperson Councillor Tracey McPhee said the event would provide an opportunity for families to learn more about the importance of learning through play in the early years of a child’s life.
“This annual event brings over 200 children to the local school community, for a morning of learning and exploring new ideas by engaging in fun play activities,” Cr McPhee said.
“Families can also hear about the services on offer to assist in a range of areas, including early childhood development, parenting support and playgroups.
“We know how important the early years are for a child’s development, and getting support when it is needed can be life changing for families.”
National Families Week celebrates families in all their diversity and promotes their capacities and resilience in creating strong, safe and connected communities.
