The Nielson Park Beach foreshore will come alive with colour on 24 March as the community gathers to celebrate Belong Fest.
Hosted by Bundaberg Regional Council in partnership with the Bundaberg Neighbourhood Centre, this free family-friendly gathering aims to recognise the region’s multicultural community while marking Holi and Harmony Day.
The event will feature a vibrant stage program including a live set from the Gold Coast’s DJ Ashu.
Local performer Riya Ruben will also be out in the crowds leading free pop-up Bollywood style dance workshops where guests of all ages and fitness levels can follow an easy step-by-step dance routine.
Those who want to get even more steps in can take part in the 4 km Colour Fun Run with registrations available online at $10 an entry.
Colour Fun Run participants are encouraged to wear light coloured clothing as they journey past the seven colour stations on the course which travels along the Bargara foreshore and nature reserve.
For those soaking up the atmosphere back at the park, there will be multicultural displays and hot food stalls to enjoy as well as a range of activities including bag making, tea making, calligraphy, arts and crafts.
This event is supported by funding through the Queensland Government 2023-24 Celebrating Multicultural Queensland Program.
