Celebrating some of Australia’s greatest male singers, The Boys from Oz show will take to the centre stage of the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre delivering iconic pop, rock and country classic hits.

The Boys from Oz showcases the powerhouse vocal versatility of performer JD Smith, as he takes the audience on a journey through a catalogue of unofficial national anthems.

Theatre goers will be entertained with hits of John Farnham’s You’re the Voice, Daryl Braithwaite’s The Horses and Peter Allen’s I Still Call Australia Home.

Supergroup classics from AC/DC, INXS, Cold Chisel, Little River Band, Savage Garden and The Bee Gees will also be a highlight.

JD Smith said these artists had shaped him as a singer and songwriter, and continued to inspire him through his career.

“It’s all about reminiscing, while enjoying these incredible songs that have really become the soundtrack to our lives,” JD said.

“I’ve literally handpicked the best of the best musicians and singers from all around Australia to help me bring this show to life!

“It really is one of the best Aussie male singers mixed tape shows you will see, and I’m honoured to take on these epic songs and share my own personal stories and reasons why I’ve chosen them.”

JD has a lifetime of experience performing around the world in musicals and most recently with the international sensation, The Ten Tenors.

He has previously toured to Bundaberg twice performing at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre.

JD said he had been shown the loveliest hospitality here and the local audience loved The Ten Tenors.

“I’m so thrilled that I get to come back and bring a solo show to the region,” JD said.

“Everyone will know these songs and get a kick out of hearing them again!

“When I was putting this show together, I was surprised at how many brilliant songs and artists we have in our country.

“I love Australian music and I feel like we need to embrace and support the artists we have in our country.

“Not only new ones, like me – even though I feel like I’ve been around forever, but remember and dive back into the artists that have shaped our Aussie music scene.

“I’m a crazy man for singing John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, AC/DC, and all these massive songs in one show!

“I’m excited to share these iconic songs with you, and also some of my own songs from my album Soul Searchin’ which you can stream on Spotify.”
