The Queensland Ballet’s QB on Tour 2024 features rich stories which will captivate lovers of dance and music.
Queensland Ballet’s Assistant Artistic Director Greg Horsman said audiences could expect to see an evening of beautiful dancing from Queensland Ballet’s amazing dancers.
“The whole show will showcase the depth of talent that Queensland Ballet has,” Greg said.
“We are so pleased to be able to bring our art form to the communities around Queensland and hope that audiences will enjoy seeing their very own world class ballet company perform for them.”
Performances from the Three Preludes, Le Corsaire pas de deux, A Rhapsody in Motion and Tchaikovsky Mash will delight patrons.
The evocative Three Preludes, choreographed by Ben Stevenson OBE, is the romantic tale of two dancers falling in love.
The story is exemplified by the compelling choreography and graceful, synchronised movements set to the sublime music of Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Marius Petipa’s Le Corsaire pas de deux will transport the audience into a world of exotic landscapes and swashbuckling pirates, with elegant excerpts requiring technical brilliance and precise partnering.
Premiering to audience and critical acclaim in 2022, Greg Horsman’s beautiful A Rhapsody in Motion explores the fascinating relationship between the dancer and the captivating music of Rachmaninoff.
Capturing the classical era of dance in a compilation of short works, Tchaikovsky Mash by Matthew Lawrence features the music from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and more.
Greg said that regional touring was one of the highlights of the Queensland Ballet’s artistic schedule.
“We especially love seeing Bundaberg audiences experience the magic of ballet and enjoy watching the performance and our fantastic dancers.”
