Childers Library have collaborated with Forest View Aged Care Facility to offer enchanting tales for the young, and the young at heart, through Storytime.
Storytime at Forest View Aged Care facility will serve up an opportunity to bridge the generation gap through the magic of stories.
The activities will bring together the energy and enthusiasm of children with the wisdom and experience of Forest View Aged residents.
Creating a shared space for storytelling and interaction, Storytime aims to create positive connections and moments of joy, laughter, and fun that will enrich lives across the generations.
Children and residents can enjoy the February one hour session, which will feature storytelling, nursery rhymes, singing with movement, and a special Valentines Day card craft activity.
The Storytime event will support family involvement, build positive community partnerships and support emotional well-being.
For little participants the session also promotes and enhances social skills, early childhood literacy and inter-generational bonds.
Storytime is a First 5 Forever initiative that encourages the joy of talking, reading, singing and playing for under-5s, establishing a positive foundation of a lifetime of learning and the love of books.
The Childers Library and Forest View Aged Care facility are hoping to host a Storytime session each school term in 2024.
