Bundaberg Brewed Drinks was one of nearly 30 Queensland food and beverage companies exhibiting at China’s largest import show earlier this month.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) took place in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November where it attracted more than 400,000 delegates and exhibitors from 100 countries.

Bundaberg Brewed Drinks CEO John McLean said it was always a privilege to take their product to the world.

“It’s our chance to showcase our region, our state and our country,” John said.

“With the continued support of so many, we are able to continue to grow and treat the world to Bundaberg.”

Other Queensland brands represented included Sirromet Wine, Tamborine Mountain Distillery and King River Ag.

Premier Anastacia Palaszczuk officially opened the dedicated Taste of Queensland pavilion inside the Australian display where exhibitors featured beef, seafood, horticultural, wine and beverage, processed food and health and wellness products.

China was Queensland’s largest goods export market for the 12 months up to September 2023, valued at $23.7 billion.

Queensland also has a longstanding sister-state partnership with Shanghai, which was first signed 34 years ago and has been renewed again this year.

Queensland’s global business agency, Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), has five offices in greater China and managed the delegation promoting the state’s world class food and beverages.
