The sounds of ARIA chart-topping hits will float along the banks of the Burnett River as illustrious Australian musician Pete Murray headlines the Milbi Festival Sunset Sounds event.
A member of the elite group of Australian artists to have sold over 1.2 million records, he will be accompanied by support acts Caravãna Sun, Indie-pop queen JaZZella and Chris Ah Gee for what will be an unforgettable riverside experience.
It’s the first event to be announced from the 10-day 2023 Milbi Festival program with tickets for Sunset Sounds available from noon on Thursday 14 September 2023.
Nominated for a whopping 17 ARIA Awards Pete has had a number of hit singles like ‘Feeler’, ‘So Beautiful’ and ‘Opportunity’ – just to name a few – and is looking forward to singing along with a Bundaberg Region audience.
“I’m very honoured to be headlining the festival,” Pete said.
“I’m pretty sure most people in Australia know a few Pete Murray songs so the singing along these days is just getting better and better.
“I like to make the crowd feel like they are part of the show and once they feel this, they always have a better time singing along or dancing.”
He said the crowd would recognise many of the hits that he and his talented band would be playing.
“I will be playing all the big songs that everyone knows and hopefully we will have some massive sing alongs, with a lot of laughs and funny moments.”
It’s been about 10 years since Pete played in Bundaberg and even longer since he first visited the region and he said he’s looking forward to returning.
“I’m always looking forward to playing live music and coming to Bundaberg will be great as I’ve only been there on two other occasions.
“The first time was before I was playing music and I was just traveling in my Kombi and the second time was playing a live show.
“Regional crowds are some of the best crowds to play to because everyone lets their hair down a little more.
“There is always something funny that happens at these types of shows.
“I think the regional crowds know how to have a good time.”
The brand new Milbi Festival event Sunset Sounds is shaping up to be an evening not to be missed with high quality entertainment adding to the serene riverside atmosphere.
In addition to Pete’s chart-topping hits, indi-electro-pop act Caravãna Sun will be bringing the raw energy of their live shows to the stage as well as indie-pop queen Jazzella and Chris Ah Gee, who’s distinctive vocals will fill the evening air.
Food vendors will be on site and the bar will be open at the 18+ event.
