Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery will host the final encore of the Pub Rock exhibition with its Oz Rock Trivia event on 25 August.
Hosted by Just4Fun Entertainment, those who think they know their Hoodoo Gurus from their Skyhooks will be challenged to test their skills at an epic evening of ’70s and ’80s Aussie rock music trivia.
Tickets include light refreshments and there will be a paid bar available at this adults-only event where participants can participate individually or in groups of six or less.
The trivia champion will walk away with $75 from the Spotted Dog at the Railway Hotel, with second place getting $50 and $25 for third.
Council’s Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said it was a fitting close for the National Portrait Gallery’s touring Pub Rock exhibition.
“Pub Rock has been a great addition to our gallery space and has allowed visitors to step back in time with these iconic images,” Cr Learmonth said.
“What better place to test your rock knowledge than surrounded by portraits celebrating the sights and sounds of ’70s and ’80s Australia.”
Those who still want to see the Pub Rock exhibition can do so during the event before it officially closes on 27 August.
Drawn primarily from the National Portrait Gallery’s collection and enriched with works by leading Australian music photographers including Tony Mott and Wendy McDougall, the exhibition features staged portraits and publicity shots alongside candid images showcasing the grungy energy of live performances at the time.
The Pub Rock exhibition is supported by the National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program, an Australian Government program aiming to improve access to the national collections for all Australians.
