Businesses wanting to know more about the demographics of the region, how to use the .id platform and how this information can be utilised in their business planning are invited to attend an upcoming workshop.
Bundaberg Regional Council subscribes to a number of online data tools to support local businesses and not-for-profits to make well-informed decisions.
These data tools provide information on the local community, economic performance and industry.
They also provide a free ‘economic impact tool’ to support business planning decisions and grant applications.
Following feedback from the business community, Bundaberg Regional Council is facilitating a workshop with Katrina Houghton from Informed Decision (.id) in Bundaberg on Monday 31 July to provide an overview and training on how to use the .id platform.
“At the Bundaberg workshop we will be discussing the demographic and economic changes that have occurred in the region over the last financial year,” Katrina said.
“This will provide an update on how your economy is performing compared to other areas, how your industries are developing overtime, including where jobs growth and decline is occurring the region.
“Businesses can use the tool support investment decisions, understand the makeup of their community including ‘who is the customer’ and also support grant applications through the use of the economic impact tool.”
Katrina said the data was important because it helped businesses to make informed decisions.
“It uses all available data to analyse how the economy is performing and where the key changes are taking place,” she said.
