Attendees at the next Bundaberg Business Breakfast will hear from professional athlete and former Ironman Guy Leech as he discusses this month’s theme of ‘healthcare priorities in the workplace’.

To be held on Tuesday 25 July the Bundaberg Regional Council event aims to give the business community the chance to collaborate and learn from experts across a wide array of industries.

Guy will join the event to discuss some of his inspirational sporting highlights and his work developing his business Heart180, and the importance of defibrillators.

Heart 180 aims to drastically reduce the 30,000 lives lost from sudden cardiac arrests every year by providing defibrillators to those who can’t afford them.

The national-based defibrillator company was founded by Guy in 2016 and came about after his own personal experiences.

“My mate had a sudden cardiac arrest, sadly there wasn’t a defib nearby,” he said in a Heart180 video.

“It was too late to save my mate, but it is not too late to save yours.

“In your workplace, your home, your gym, your school – demand a defib.”

Joining the July breakfast will also be osteopath, Pilates instructor and corporate wellness provider Dr Kimberley Masin.

Dr Masin will explain the benefits of allied health practices, corporate employee virtual wellness programs and education that aim to boost engagement, productivity, as well as mental and physical health in the workplace.

The Bundaberg Business Breakfast will be held on Tuesday 25 July at 7 am at the Bundaberg Multiplex.
