The 106th Childers Show will be opening its gates this Saturday with agricultural heritage, rides, displays and more on the agenda.
Childers Show Society President Chloe Johnson is thrilled to be holding the event to unite the town after a short hiatus last year, and said community sentiment for its return was strong.
“It’s time for us all to come together again and enjoy the Childers Show,” she said.
“It’s great to finally be able to stage the show after the set back of last year.”
Chloe acknowledged the support of Bundaberg Regional Council and the Gin Gin Bendigo Bank for the entertainment program, with three great performances set to take part during the day.
“You will be able to find The Crack Up Sisters in the Centre Ring next to the woodchopping,” she said.
“Their show is not to be missed!”
The community is encouraged to join in on the celebrations by entering in one of the many sections in the pavilion or by simply enjoying what the shwo had to offer.
“We’re looking forward to seeing everyone come together again to enjoy the best of Childers, including our beloved competitions, the animals, rides, showbags, Sunwater Animal Farm, amazing entertainment and the iconic Childers Egg Throw Competition,” Chloe said.
“We are particularly proud that we have been able to keep the tickets prices the lowest in the Wide Bay, with adult entry just $10.
“The Childers Show is loved by so many – it’s full of family traditions and wonderful childhood memories and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the 2023 event.”
