WIDE BAY BOWLS CLASSIC
Results: Division 1 played Maryborough and won overall 6 rinks to 1 rink. Well done! Division 3 lost to Bargara B 2 rinks to 3 rinks.
Next Saturday 11th February Division 1 play Hervey Bay at Hervey Bay. Skips to arrange transport. Division 3 play ATW at ATW. Selected teams will be posted on the Club Noticeboard on Tuesday.
COMPETITION
All 2023 Club Competitions have been drawn and are on the Competition boards at the Club. All members are asked to check the draws and start arranging games by mutual agreement. With the WBBC being played games need to be organized mid-week or if you play someone that works then you may need to look at alternative days and times e.g. Sunday mornings when QRI play or perhaps starting a game at 5.30pm and finishing under lights (would be nice and cool) When playing your first round match you have to pay the additional $1 nomination fee when paying your green fees.
Reminder: the first round of the Championship Pairs is to be played on or before Sunday 12th February 9.30am start. (Play, Sub, or Forfeit)

SOCIAL BOWLS EVENTS
Visitors are most welcome on all playing days. Entry sheets are at the club or phone the Club on 41514217 during opening hours. If you cannot get through to the club number regarding bowls, then phone 0401341378 or 0466539441.
Tuesday 7th February: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm for a 1 pm start. The 2 bowl ‘Toucher Jackpot’ will be played after the game.
Wednesday 8th February: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – this is a fun game of Singles similar to consistency singles where points are allocated to the 4 closest bowls to the jack. Games are played over 12 ends with no driving allowed. Names in by 6.15pm with games starting at 6.30pm. Green fees are $8 with 50 percent of the green fees being returned as prizemoney. All ability levels are welcome so come along for a fun night out.
Thursday 9th February: ‘Thirsty Thursday’ Open Pairs. 3pm start, names by 2.30pm. Free drink (Sponsored) included in green fees. Games will finish at 5pm with two random lucky draws as prizes.
Thursday 9th February: Night Bowls – bowls start at 6.30pm, names in by 6pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made to feel very welcome.
Friday 10th February: Open Pairs (Men’s, Ladies, Mixed) 1pm start, names by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm. Enjoy some social bowls with the chance to win the Friday Jackpot which is $50.
Saturday 11th February – Round 2 of the Wide Bay Bowls Classic (WBBC) Division 1: Burnett Vs Hervey Bay at Hervey Bay. Division 3 Vs ATW at ATW. Otherwise, Social play with Open Pairs – men’s, ladies or mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm for a 1 pm start.

CLUB NEWS
Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 10am – 9pm, Thursday 11am – 9pm, Friday 10am – 9pm, Saturday 10am – 9pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.
The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night at 7pm. The Member’s Draw is now $130, so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.
Live entertainment for this Friday night the 10th February will be Bradz Rock N Rhythms and the following Friday the 17th February, live music will be delivered by ‘The Other Bloke’ – Members, Guests, and Visitors are always welcome.

Nominations are now open for our Championship Pairs competition, closing on 17th February, with the first games to be played on 24th February.
NIGHT BOWLS:
We have decided to continue our very popular Night Bowls every Sunday evening (weather permitting!) commencing next Sunday 12th February starting with the usual sausage sizzle at 5.30pm. Bowls should get underway by 6pm. Cost $12 pp. Everyone welcome, including new bowlers. We have plenty of bowls available to use. Put your name on the list in the clubhouse or phone Lyn Murphy on 0402 302 091.
COACHING:
Glenyss has advised she is unavailable for her usual coaching session this coming Tuesday, 7th February.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:
Our AGM will be on 3rd March at 10.30am. Nomination forms for positions on committee are on the board. Completed nomination forms should be handed to Secretary Gail Bauer by 5pm on Friday 17th February.
COMMITTEE MEETING:
The monthly committee meeting will be held this Friday 10th February at 9.30am in the clubhouse.
