Upgrades at South Head Parklands in Burnett Heads are now complete, with new shelters providing a refreshed space to sit and relax while children enjoy the play equipment.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s parks team constructed four picnic shelters with new aluminium table settings providing a great spot for family functions and community get togethers.
The new undercover shelters will also provide welcome protection from the sun.
Following the installation of new playground equipment last year the park has seen increased usage and the new table settings have been placed closer to the play facilities.
Two of the new picnic shelters with barbecues provide full accessibility to people using wheelchairs.
Additional work has included painting and upgraded shelter lighting.
The new facilities are now open to the community in time for the upcoming school holidays.
