Australia’s internationally acclaimed acoustic guitarist Tommy Emmanuel is heading to the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre with his national tour.
Tommy will perform in Bundaberg on Wednesday 17 May 2023, bringing the power of a full band to his solo acoustic playing, while sharing his love for music with the audience.
Tommy said he was looking forward to performing around Australia.
“I am so happy to be finally able to come back to play my beloved Australia,” Tommy said.
“It’s been a tough time in our world lately, and I find that music is needed more than ever.
“Since I’ve been back touring again, I sense a new feeling of JOY that people have for the live experience, just like the old days when people hear you play for the first time.
“It’s an awakening, a reminder of the beauty of music – seeing, feeling, and experiencing an event filled with truth, love, sacrifice, dedication and letting go.”
Tommy’s greatest honour was being named by his childhood idol Chet Atkins as a “Certified Guitar Player”.
The legendary US guitarist and producer Atkins gave this designation to only five players in history.
Tommy is known for his complex fingerstyle technique, energetic performances, and use of percussive effects on the instrument.
He has won a number of awards including ARIA awards, Grammy awards and Country Music Awards of Australia.
The show will run from 7 pm until 10 pm with an interval in between.
Tickets will be available for purchase from 10 am on Friday 25 November.
