A monster online raffle in support of the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Appeal will see prizes up for grabs from return flights to Brisbane to a VIP concert experience.
The online raffle will raise funds to buy food hampers for Bundaberg Region residents who need a helping hand to help make their Christmas special.
The hampers will be distributed to Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul (Bundaberg and Childers), Angels Community Group and Childers and Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centres.
Tickets are priced at $5 each, three tickets for $12, five tickets for $18 and 10 tickets for $35
The raffle, organised by Rotary Club of Bundaberg City Daybreak Inc, is available online now with residents encouraged to get involved.
Past president David Facer said being involved in the appeal was about giving back in times of need.
“This year has been another tough one for many in our community,” he said.
“The Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Appeal seeks to support those in need by supporting organisations who in turn can provide the hands on product directly to those affected and spread some Bundy Christmas cheer.
“Our club is supportive of Council initiatives and Rotary has a great history in organising raffles that benefit our community..
“An online raffle was just another method to reach out to our community and maximise the efforts to spread the Mayor’s message.”
Mayor Jack Dempsey thanked Rotary members and local businesses who donated raffle prizes for their support.
“The community has been rallying to show support for the appeal and I am so grateful for the generosity we have received so far,” he said.
“Thank you to all of the businesses involved as well as Rotary for helping to create a special fundraiser to help those in need.”
