As part of the Celebration of the Arts event hosted in Burnett Heads in October, Flickerfest will be returning to the region with its national tour.
COTA showcases art of all forms, with events set to run each weekend from this week.
Flickerfest remains Australia’s leading Academy-qualifying and BAFTA-recognised short film festival.
From 7 pm on Saturday 8 October, sit back and relax at the Burnett Heads Community Hall on Jack Norgate Oval while the best of Australian short films are screened.
The short films screening are entertaining, inspiring, award-winning and fresh from their
premieres in competition at Flickerfest Bondi, giving Burnett Heads Flickerfest audiences a
window into the hottest contemporary films out today.
The Australian program shines a spotlight on the incredible short film talent that exists in the emerging Australian industry.
Highlights from the Best of Australian Shorts include the quirky black space comedy The Home Team, starring comedy legend Paul McDermott and acclaimed actress Tara Morice.
There’s also the fun neighbourly drama Stonefish written by and starring accomplished young Queensland actor, George Pullar.
George is currently lighting up the small screen in the ABC TV drama Barons.

Running each weekend for the entire month of October, COTA will kick off this year with Chalk the Sidewalk and close out the month with art workshops, providing something for all ages to enjoy.
