Tickets to watch the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs take on the North Queensland Cowboys in Bundaberg will be on sale on July 1.
The NRL match for premiership points will be played at Salter Oval on Sunday 7 August in front of an expected crowd of about 8,000.
A 24-hour pre-sale for Bulldogs and Cowboys members opened opened June 30 followed by general public sales July 1.
The regional clash has been made possible thanks to a partnership between Bundaberg Regional Council, the State Government and the Bulldogs.
Mayor Jack Dempsey said the Bulldogs Bundaberg game had the potential to provide a boost to the region and inspire local rugby league fans.
“This is the highest level rugby league game to be played in our region and securing the Bulldogs’ regional home game is a massive triumph,” Mayor Dempsey said.
“The Bulldogs have made a real commitment to our region, not just for this game which will be broadcast across the world but for community engagement and development programs.
“It’s important we return this show of support because when they play at Salter Oval they’re the Bundaberg Bulldogs!”
When the game was announced in November last year Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs board director Andrew Gifford said the club was ecstatic to host the Bulldogs Bundaberg game.
“We are very pleased to be part of the region and commit to the region,” Mr Gifford said.
“We are looking forward to playing here.
“The collaborative approach here in Bundaberg will make this a great event and hopefully we can do it in years to come.
“Our players want to come up and be part of the community.”
