Community fete brings carnival to Bundaberg

Bundaberg Community Fete
The Bundaberg Community Fete will be serving up plenty of dagwood dogs and fun rides when it comes to the region next week.

The Bundaberg Community Fete will be kicking off in the region soon with dodgem cars, mega slides, showbags and tea cup rides all part of the fun.

The free, family-friendly event will be hosted by Fun Time Amusements at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct from Friday, 18 February to Sunday, 20 February.

The organisation’s owner and director Roy Johnson said there would be food, drinks and rides galore for the whole family to enjoy including a maze, pirate ship, The Wild Octopus, jumping castles and even something brand new that is sure to get hearts racing.

“We have a new ride this year called the Mega Twister,” Roy said.

“It is a 24 seat chair ride that lifts you way up high in the air – it’s definitely a good one!

“We will also have plenty of showbags on offer, including the popular Bertie Beetle bags.”

Roy said the event would be open to everyone and would operate in a Covid safe manner, with four hourly sessions available to attend.

He said being able to host the community fete was a great opportunity to spread some cheer back into people’s lives.

“I have been in the amusement industry for 13 years and I love that I can help to bring some smiles and happiness to the community through these types of events,” he said.

“Especially in the current climate where people are feeling a bit more down, this is a great opportunity to get out into the fresh air and have a good time.”

The fete is free to enter with ride tickets and ride armbands (for unlimited rides) available to purchase at the ticket box office.

Alternatively, you can purchase presale discounted tickets here.

Bundaberg Community Fete session times are as follows:

  • Friday – 5pm to 9pm
  • Saturday – 10am to 2pm
  • Saturday – 5pm to 9pm
  • Sunday – 10am to 2pm

The event will be held at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct with access via University Drive.
