In an effort to bring together families and their children, Churches of Christ will be hosting a free pop-up playgroup at Boreham Park.
The free activity will be held on Wednesday 17 November and will be a fun morning of educational activities for parents to engage in with their children.
Churches of Christ Team Leader Rhonda Campbell said the pop-up playgroup would be a great opportunity for families to have a morning out to learn new skills and meet new people.
“The morning will promote play based learning for children under school age and provide families an opportunity to engage in play based activities with their child in a safe and supported space,” Rhonda said.
“The other aim of the morning is to help local families meet other families to extend their social and support networks.”
A number of activities will be on offer throughout the pop-up playgroup including play and nature based activities.
“There will be activities for children aged 0 to five years old, with a focus on hands on play and sensory activities such as water and sand play and playdough,” Rhonda said.
“Nature based activities such as a scavenger hunt around the park and a group story time will also be part of the morning.”
The event will provide a chance for parents to meet other school and early childhood service providers also.
“There will be staff from several schools and early childhood services available to answer questions about kindergarten, Prep and playgroups,” Rhonda said.
“There is no need to pre-register for the event, just use the Covid check in on the day.”
A free morning tea of fruit will be provided, although those attending are asked to bring a hat, sunscreen and water bottle.
