Book lovers will have a new space to browse through the pages of their favourite stories with The Book Boutique set to open its second shop within the Bundaberg CBD.
Owner Tunja Cottier established her first book store in Bargara after taking over The Book Exchange and said she was extremely excited to offer a second shop at 55 Bourbong Street.
“Much like our Bargara store, the Bundaberg store will offer quality pre-loved books, new books, vinyl records and gift lines,” she said.
“Most of the gift lines we will feature will be made by locally owned businesses.
“The town space is much, much bigger allowing us to have areas to sit, relax and read and we will also offer coffee and locally sourced teas.”
Tunja said she established The Bargara Book Boutique last year after following her dream of owning the perfect place to provide books of all genres to the community.
“I have always loved books, always been a big reader so when the opportunity arose to buy the Bargara Book Exchange I jumped on it and turned it into what it now is,” she said.
“Our local community and visitors alike love our little shop by the beach, they love that its not just books too.
“After visiting café bookshops in Brisbane and Sydney I have dreamt of owning one and the Bargara store is too small and already surrounded by great café’s so it wasn’t an option there.”
Tunja said she and her family instead set their minds on opening a second store, offering a bigger space that would allow seating and a mini café.
“As a family we strongly felt that being in the heart of Bundaberg among other locally owned businesses was the best option for us,” she said.
“We are super excited to be joining the fabulous business community in town and can’t wait to open our doors in a couple of months.”
Tunja said she The Book Boutique was set to open in the Bundaberg CBD at 55 Bourbong Street in October.
