Clubbercise for Cancer is offering additional fitspiration for the region’s residents with a chance to work out for fun and a good cause.

Hosted by City Fit in partnership with the staff of Bundaberg Regional Council Relay for Life team, the classes are being held every Wednesday at 5.30 pm, for the next five weeks.

For just $5 participants can take part in the energetic and enjoyable sessions with all funds raised supporting the Cancer Council Queensland.

Staff of Bundaberg Regional Council Relay for Life team member Robyn Silcox was inspired to hold the fundraiser after attending the free lessons offered through the Be Active, Be Alive program.

“I had never tried Clubbercise before and found that I really enjoyed it and everyone who attended was having such a great time,” Robyn said.

“Seeing that each afternoon one hundred or more residents would turn up to take part, I thought it would be a great opportunity to keep this great fitness opportunity going while raising funds for a worthy cause at the same time.

“And that’s how the idea for Clubbercise for Cancer got started.

“The wonderful instructors at Citifit were only too happy to help and jumped on board straight away.”

Robyn said she hoped the Clubbercise for Cancer sessions would prove just as popular.

“I really encourage anyone who is interested to just come along and give it a try.

“It’s just a bit of fun and you don’t have to take it too seriously.

“As long as you’re moving it’s beneficial.”

Cancer Council Queensland CEO Chris McMillan thanked the Clubbercise team for their generous support.

“We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without community support,” Ms McMillan said.

“Funds raised will help support our work in cancer research, prevention and support, and enable us to be there for all Queenslanders affected by cancer.

“I encourage the Bundaberg community to get involved and Clubbercise for Cancer to make a difference in the community.”

Clubbercise for Cancer will be held in the Civic Centre, at 190 Bourbong St, every Wednesday from 5.30 pm between August 4 and September 8.

Entry is $5 per adult per class, with children under the age of 15 free when accompanied by a paying adult.

No bookings are required, simply arrive ready to Clubbercise for Cancer.
