The banks of Lake Redbrook will be transformed into a beautiful, picnic-style affair when Opera by the Lake returns for the Childers Festival this year.
Being held on Saturday, 24 July, ticketholders will enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the lake being entertained by Popera and Happiness Is.
The performances feature a mix of entertainment set to delight crowds and set the tone for enjoying a local wine or two and an antipasto platter with friends.
Creative Regions producer Wendy Zunker said the event would give people the opportunity to relax and enjoy an afternoon overlooking the stunning lake.
“When we say relaxed we mean it, think of an eclectic collection of picnic rugs, beanbags, picnic tables and stools,” Ms Zunker said.
“Book with a friend, or book with a bunch of them as it is going to be amazing.”
Popera Classics Collection will introduce listeners to popular classical music with a modern edge through their fresh and contemporary performance.
“Piano and string trio Happiness Is have a versatile repertoire from Mozart to Queen, so expect the unexpected,” Ms Zunker said.
“Kate Hardisty, Christie McLucas and Alison Vercoe can each hold their own on the stage as accomplished musicians, put them together and well, your ears will find out just what happiness is.”
The audience will be able to purchase wine on arrival from local vendors Hill of Promise, and Vintner’s Secret Vineyard.
Each guest will receive an individual antipasto platter from the popular Mollydookers Cafe, and Deldora Delights will be in attendance with their coffee van for when the afternoon starts to chill down.
Bookings are essential with no tickets available at the gate. You can book online here.
Keep your eye out for details regarding bus charter to the lake.
Lake Redbrook is a holiday retreat with camping and cabins on site which can also be booked for Childer’s Festival here.
This event is being held on Saturday, 24 July from 3pm to 5pm.
Free shuttle busses will be departing both Childers and Bundaberg to get to and from the event although bookings are essential.
