Mon Repos turtles and a local Bundaberg distillery will be highlighted in a travel television show set to air this month.
The Great Australian Doorstep is set to return with a brand new 2021 TV season from Saturday, February 13 on Channel 7TWO and their radio show airing across the regional Triple M network.
Hosted by AFL legend and 92.5 Triple M Gold Coast radio host, Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt and wife Sheree, The Great Australian Doorstep will once again showcase some of the Australia’s most amazing destinations.
In the new 2021 TV series, Spida and Sheree will discover their own backyard, exploring some of Queensland’s greatest wonders.
The 13 new episodes will uncover many corners of the Sunshine State, from little rural towns to the incredible waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
Exploring much of what the Bundaberg Region has to offer, the pair also landed on the eco-island of Lady Elliot Island, exploring underwater coral reefs which Spida claims is the best snorkelling in the world.
“As soon as you get under the water, you are entering the most magical spot on the Great Barrier Reef,” he said.
Such an enormous amount of marine life at your finger tips.”
The couple said the television show uncovers everything available right in their own backyard.
“Covid has forced us all to discover what is right on our doorstep, and we have been blown away by what attractions are so close to home, yet we never knew they existed,” Sheree said.
Before they get to Bundaberg, Spida and Sheree will travel to Birdsville, Imbil and Kenilworth as well as Maryborough and Hervey Bay.
The Great Australian Doorstep will air from Saturday, February 13 on Channel 7TWO from 2.30pm or catch up via 7Plus.
The Everitt’s Travel Radio Show, also named The Great Australian Doorstep, airs every Saturday morning 6am to 7am across the regional Triple M Network.
