Pop-up Polo will return to Bundaberg in 2021 with tickets released this week for the glamorous event that will feature the popular divot stomp plus exciting new features.

Pop-up Polo Bundaberg 2021 will be held on Saturday 19 June to coincide with the Taste Bundaberg Festival.

Events Queensland Director Matthew Turich said the success of the first event, held in 2019, had helped to ensure it would return, much to the delight of residents.

“It was always the vision to include Bundaberg in a broader annual Pop-Up Polo Series,” Matthew said.

“We always believed the Bundaberg Region would support this inimitable event, however, we were truly humbled by the support we received from the community and local business alike.”

COVID prevented the event from returning this year but Matthew said that had given Events Queensland more time to work on exciting new offerings and activations.

“Guests attending Pop-Up Polo Bundaberg 2021 can expect astounding skill, daring and athleticism generated by some of Australia’s best polo players and ponies.

“This intimate polo action will be complimented by thoughtful, seasonal hospitality and premium beverage selections, which can all be enjoyed while mingling in the surrounds of a number of chic marquees.

“All of the event favourites will return, including the Divot Stomp, Men’s and Women’s Dash, Pony V’s Car Race and Fashion on the Field competition, with incredible prizes on offer.”

Becoming part of the Taste Bundaberg Festival was also exciting for organisers and Matthew said the two events were well aligned.

“Pop-Up Polo has long prided itself on delivering locally inspired, bespoke menus and our very own Executive Chef is looking forward to amazing guests with his creations.”

In addition to fabulous food and fashion, he said the Pop-up Polo Bundaberg 2021 game would be a drawcard for everyone, not just those familiar with the sport.

“Players are sourced from all over Australia and when availability allows, the services of international players can be secured.

“Due to the players inability to travel for tournaments during 2020, they are all eager for the 2021 series to commence and to entertain audiences once more.”

Matthew said Events Queensland would like to thank the entire team at Bundaberg Regional Council for their continued support and hard work to bring this event to fruition.

Tickets for Pop-up Polo Bundaberg 2021 are available online now.
