Rawlicious Delicious is a local success story, having gone from selling their vegan treats at markets in 2015 to selling around Australia today.
Owner Heidi Turunen said the company had evolved a lot since the beginning.
“We started Rawlicious Delicious having a little stall at markets and events,” Heidi said.
“We were also making birthday cakes and fulfilling orders for general public.
“After a while we started gaining a lot of interest from local cafes and we moved to wholesale and supplying cafes and shops.
“We purchased our own refrigerated delivery van to keep up with the demand coming from other locations in Queensland and Interstate.”
Rawlicious Delicious grew out of Heidi’s love of food and wellness.
“At Rawlicious Delicious we are passionate about health and wellness.
“We know that healthy food can and should taste delicious too.”
They currently distribute throughout Queensland, as well as New South Wales and Victoria.
“From Mackay to Melbourne and everywhere in between.”
With COVID-19 restrictions affecting their usual customer base they adapted to changing conditions.
“We decided to evolve and adapt to the situation and moved back towards retail sales.
“It started by offering home deliveries, and we still do, and have noticed an increase in our retail sales since COVID-19 started.
“We also launched a very successful Mother’s Day campaign with two other local businesses creating beautiful Mother’s Day gift packs, that turned out to be very popular.”
As restrictions ease not only have their regular stockists come back on board, they have gained new ones.
“Most of our stockists are back into full swing of things and our wholesale orders are picking up again.
“We have also gained many new stockists since restrictions are easing.”
When you look on their website it’s easy to see why the vegan treats that are free from gluten, dairy and refined sugar have become so popular.
Even Heidi sometimes has trouble deciding which is her favourite.
“I love all our products!
“If I would have to pick one, it would have to be our Mint Chocolate slice or Banana Banoffee Cheesecake.
“Our top sellers seem to change with seasons and locations!
“Some people are chocolate lovers and some adore our fruity and citrus cheesecakes.
“Some of our very first flavours, like Snickerz and Peanut Butter Cups are still top sellers, but our brand new Salted Caramel Latte Cheesecake is also very high on the list!”
Heidi is looking forward to the future, with some big plans in store for the Bundaberg company.
“We are excited to be able to ship our products to even wider audience Australia wide.
“Moving into bigger production space and finding staff are on the cards for us to be able to make more raw treats and keep up with the demand!”
