Building on the success of the organisation’s recent relocation, local charity Phoenix House has set its sights on the future.

Over the past few months Phoenix House has been partnering with 361 Degrees Strategic Engagement Services to develop a 3-year strategic plan.

The plan sets out a series of initiatives and new services to be developed over the next three years as a direct result of stakeholder engagement.

Clients, staff, funders and broader stakeholders were invited to complete a survey and attend workshops shape the future of Phoenix House.

This feedback also led to the creation of a new Vision. Mission and Values for Phoenix House.

Jason Rushton, Director of Services at Phoenix House, said it had been an important project.

“Phoenix House has been offering services to the Bundaberg Region for many years,” Jason said.

“Many non-Government agencies have been facing new challenges of service delivery to meet difficult targets, on a tight financial budget.

“Furthermore, retaining or finding qualified staff in regional and remote areas to meet these service demands.

“These areas have found agencies finding themselves becoming stagnant and not being able to grow due to these restrictions.

“Thinking outside the box and listening to our community, Phoenix House took the first step by consulting with 361 Degrees, namely Lee Griffiths, to identify what we were doing well and what we needed to do better or even change.

“With a progressive Committee, we have taken onboard this new knowledge and information to create our Strategic Plan for the next three years changing and taking Phoenix House into the next stage of development.”

Lee Griffiths, Engagement Consultant from 361 Degrees Strategic Engagement Services, said they were pleased to work with Phoenix House.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to partner with Phoenix House, enabling them to change the world and make a difference in the lives of the people they serve,” Lee said.

“Through our passion to make difference in the world 361 Degrees Strategic Stakeholder Engagement Services offered our stakeholder informed strategy service on a pro bono basis after hearing about the great work of Phoenix House.

“This led to us design and facilitate processes that has enabled Phoenix House clients and broader stakeholders to shape the future direction of the organisation.

“It truly is great to partner with a not for profit organisation that is passionate about making decisions that are informed by the people that use its services.”
