Bundaberg Regional Council is advising motorists of road closures in the North Isis Road, Childers area.
Stockyard Road to Henkes Road and Lynwood Road and McDonalds Road to Knockroe Road will be closed to all through traffic until Monday, 22 June.
Council’s roads and drainage portfolio spokesman Cr Bill Trevor said the closure would facilitate work to bitumen seal road widening.
“This features the third stage of widening this road since 2013, and once complete, will provide road users with more space on the road with bitumen width changing from 5.8 metres to seven metres,” he said.
“North Isis Road is a major collector road for the Childers area and this widening is a great improvement for travellers who routinely utilise this stretch.”
Cr Trevor said traffic control measures would be put in place with appropriate signage displayed while the roads are closed during the works period.
“Through traffic is requested to use the signed detours,” he said.
“Bundaberg Regional Council is aware of the inconvenience construction work causes and we thanks residents and road users in advance for their patience and cooperation.”
