Love was in the air at the Wedding Spectacular Bundaberg with hundreds of couples looking for advice on how to make their big day perfect.
Jarrod Hurst and Tiarnie Toovey are yet to set the date, but were looking for ideas and hoping to secure both a venue and a wedding celebrant at the event.
“We plan to get married next year, or the year after,” Tiarnie said.
“It is nice to come along as a couple and check out what is here, and the set up here is great.”
Childers-based marriage celebrant Julie Green said by attending the Wedding Spectacular Bundaberg she was able to network with other local businesses and touch base with brides she was soon to marry.
“I am connecting with brides who are looking for a celebrant,” she said.
“But I am also connecting with brides who have already booked me, and I am getting to meet them face to face and have a chat, which is lovely.
“I am also networking with all the other amazing vendors we have in Bundaberg.
“We are very fortunate here in the Bundaberg Region, we have everything. It’s all here and people don’t have to leave our region to get all the services that you get at the Sunshine Coast or Brisbane.”
50 vendors at Wedding Spectacular Bundaberg
Julie has been a marriage celebrant for 14 years and says there is no better job in the world then being the person who gets to stand in front of a couple as they pledge their lives to each other.
“I love my job, I love, love, love my job,” Julie said.
“I get to stand so close when people commit for life and that is so special.”
Elegant Events organised the annual Wedding Spectacular Bundaberg with owner Shelley Dunne and her daughter Cassandra Egan saying there was more than 50 local stalls offering a variety of wedding needs.
Cassandra said Wedding Spectacular Bundaberg was run by vendors for the vendors, and they had held the event for the past four years.
“We have vendors including celebrants, photographers, dresses, drink services, venues, so pretty much everything,” she said.
“Before the doors opened, we had about 150 people lined up, and it seems to have been pretty packed all day.”
Mint Six Boutique has been in business for about one-and-a-half years in Bundaberg with owner Shauna Blackwell saying she had attended three Wedding Spectacular Bundaberg events previously.
“I like to include some every day wear when I come here, so when the bride comes with a group of her friends, they can also browse for themselves,” Shauna said.
“It’s absolutely worthwhile coming to events like this, after the success at the first event that I did when I was based in Brisbane, then I moved here, and I have been flat-out.”
