It’s the age old question – “what do I put in the kids’ lunchboxes”?
If you’d like to find out some answers – and learn recipes, tips and strategies to prepare quick, tasty and healthy lunchboxes – book in for one or more Cooking Classes at the Bundaberg Neighbourhood Centre in January.
Rose Aston from QCWA Country Kitchens will be running the classes for everyone interested in creating tasty and healthy lunchboxes in 2020.
“We’ll be concentrating on simple, tasty and healthy lunchbox ideas that won’t take a lot of time to prepare,” Rose said.
The classes are $10 per person and are open to adults and children who love to cook (accompanied by an adult). Food cooked for morning tea and lunch will be shared.
The two hour classes will be held from 10am til 12 noon on three consecutive Wednesdays in January – 15, 22 and 29.
Rose Aston said participants can come along to one, two or three classes.
Different menu ideas each week
“Each week we’ll be preparing a different tasty and healthy lunchbox menu, so there’ll be lots to learn and lots to taste,” Rose said.
“The two hour lesson will consist of some information on nutrition, then one and a half hours of getting our hands dirty, then we’ll sit down and everyone can taste what they’ve created and we can share ideas.”
In an ongoing collaboration, the Lunchbox Classes are being held in partnership with the Bundaberg and District Neighbourhood Centre and Qld Country Women’s Country Kitchens.
