Council is spreading the word that there’s no better time to invest in the Bundaberg Region than now through its Investment Prospectus and Invest Bundaberg website.
Members of the local business community gathered for the official launch of the two economic development initiatives today.
Mayor Jack Dempsey said the goal of the Investment Prospectus and Invest Bundaberg website was to take the region to the world.
“The Bundaberg Region could just well be the world’s best kept secret with its abounding potential for growth and development,” Mayor Dempsey said.
“We’re seeing increased interest from investors and developers keen to take advantage of the region’s diverse industry base and enviable location.
“Already $4.2 billion of capital is mobilising for delivery in Bundaberg across a number of projects.
“Just a few hours north of the state capital, we have established success stories in areas including heath, education, agribusiness and tourism.”
“Now we’re also excited to explore exciting investment opportunities in our future leading industries.
“They include agtech, advanced food and beverage manufacturing, bioproducts and bioenergy and defence supply.”
Mayor Dempsey said the new Investment Prospectus and website would help potential investors understand the benefits of choosing the Bundaberg Region as a location.
“Our region meets the needs to cater to these industries of the future, which are all identified opportunities for Australia.
“They are all high-value industries that will lead to important employment opportunities that align with the nation’s future growth sectors.
“Bundaberg also has untapped potential locked away in its natural resources, its agricultural lands, its booming tourism industry, along with port and airport infrastructure.
“To have Paul Martyn here, the CEO of Trade Invest Queensland, shows that Bundaberg will have a significant advantage.
“Now is the time to invest in the Bundaberg Region – before you miss out.”
He also called on residents to act as ambassadors for the project.
“Share the message, one of our greatest and most important assets is our people.”
