Nominations are now open for Council’s 2020 Australia Day Awards.

If you know a local hero achieving great things for the Bundaberg Region community then recognise their efforts and nominate them for a 2020 Australia Day Award.

Award nominations are now open across four categories including Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Junior Citizen of the Year and Community Event or Group of the Year.

Bundaberg Regional Council Mayor Jack Dempsey said the annual awards were an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our most deserving residents.

“Submitting a nomination may take up half an hour of your day but when it’s for the opportunity to recognise people that dedicate hours, if not a lifetime, to our community, then it’s certainly time well spent,” Mayor Dempsey said.

“Our region is filled to the brim with community champions.

“People who think of others before they think of themselves and those with a drive to see our region reach new heights.

“Let them know how much we appreciate their efforts and nominate them today for an Australia Day Award.”

Australia Day Award nominations are now open and close on Friday 29 November.

Nominations for the 2020 Australia Day Awards can be made at Council’s website to complete the online nomination form or any Council Service Centre for a hard-copy version.
