Antonio Kaufusi has named round 23’s Broncos v Bunnies clash his game of the year with an exciting 80 minutes featuring game-winning tackles, rampaging forwards and a “bit of a niggle” from some ex-Broncos.

How good was the Broncos v Bunnies? It was by far the best game of the year.

I didn’t care who won that game, you just had to salute both teams.

The 80 minutes at Suncorp had it all: game-winning tackles from Damien Cook, rampaging forwards in the shape of Payne Haas and David Fifita, along with a bit of niggle as ex-Broncos pair James Roberts and Jaydn Su’A were sent for ten.

After the game, which saw the Bunnies strengthen their case for the top four, Broncos’ Anthony Seibold called for peace … before taking another sly dig at Souths assistant Jason Demetriou.

With that much bad blood already there, how sweet it would be if these two sides met in the finals to do it all over again?

Manly emerged as a serious contender after beating Canberra down there.

You gotta give Des Hasler credit for getting the Sea Eagles to where they are now. Not many would have predicted them to be where they are after last year’s fiasco.

My match of the round is Manly v Storm.

We’ve seen many fiery clashes between these sides at Lottoland previously, not least the infamous Battle of Brookvale in 2011 – so expect the heat to be turned up again.

The match ups are endless with both sides fielding quality players.

Like I have been saying before, forwards win matches… Addin Fonua-Blake and Marty Taupau have formed a destructive prop partnership for Manly but Melbourne’s Jesse Bromwich and Nelson Asofa-Solomona are arguably the best combination in the NRL.

A ferocious tussle up front should ensue.

Melbourne have won their past three matches at Lottoland and will be out for revenge after losing to the Sea Eagles in golden point in round 19.

I’m tipping Storm to win by 1.

Broncos v Bunnies took too much out of young team

My upset of the round is the Eels to beat the Broncos at home.

I just think that Bunnies game up there was like a finals game and in turn will have taken too much petrol out of the Broncos’ tank.

Having a young team and asking them to turn up again is another thing.

I believe the Eels will get the Broncos at the back end of the game.

Kaufusi’s Call Round 24:

Cowboys v Bulldogs
Warriors v Rabbitohs
Broncos v Eels
Knights v Titans
Sea Eagles v Storm
Roosters v Panthers
Sharks v Raiders
Dragons v Tigers
