Curry lovers will be pleased to know that Turtle’s Paradise Cafe, Restaurant and Bar at Bargara will now be open at night on weekends.

Starting this week, the popular venue will be serving dinner on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Established a few months ago at the Bargara Berries precinct off Hughes Road, the venue has so far been serving up tasty spicy dishes at lunchtime only.

They also offer a contemporary Australian menu during the week.

Owners Jaimon Mathew and Alexy and Deepu Joseph decided to take on the new venture after recognising a gap in the market.

Alexy said the enthusiastic community response had prompted opening for dinner on weekends.

“We’re working on a separate menu for dinner and will be from 5.30pm to 8.30pm from this Friday (30 August),” he said.

“We offer takeaways as well but we strongly suggest everyone to dine in at the restaurant to get the real taste of the authentic Indian dishes and curries.

“We will have a regular continental menu for dinner but we offer different curries on each weekend so people who love curries can try something different each time they visit.

“In the future we have plans to open for dinner on more nights.”

Meanwhile, the cafe will still be open during its usual hours from 8am to 3pm Tuesday to Sunday for curry lovers and others.

The venue is fully licensed, with BYO not allowed.

There are intentions to offer more diverse dining experiences in future.

“We have plans to bring multicultural dishes including continental, Chinese, Indian, Thai, etc under the same roof,” Alexy said.

“We will have weekend offers for food items which will be updated through our Facebook page.

“We also have plans to utilise more outdoor facilities like gazebos for dining in at the cafe premises in the future.”

The reviews on Facebook so far for lunchtime dining are mostly positive.

“We really enjoyed our lunch. The staff are very helpful and lovely. An inviting, child friendly environment. Considering it’s only early days you’re staff are doing a wonderful job!” — Suellen Cusack-Greensill

“The food and service was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be returning very soon.” — Zoe Marsen
