A sea of pink outfits will be spread across the Bargara foreshore when the Walk for Women’s Cancers event takes place next month.

The family-friendly event aimed at raising funds for women’s cancers will be held on Sunday, 8 September beginning at Nielson Park at 8am.

Cancer Council Queensland’s Brianna Burraston said the walk was designed for all ages and fitness levels to take part.

“We will see Bargara explode in a sea of pink as participants take part in a 3km or 6km walk along the beautiful foreshore,” she said.

Walk for Women’s Cancers events give hope

In Queensland one in six women will be diagnosed with a women’s cancer by the age of 85.

Brianna said thanks to funds raised at Walk for Women’s Cancers, Cancer Council Queensland could continue funding world-leading research, prevention programs and patient support services for women affected by breast and gynaecological cancers.

“Designed to unite, celebrate and remember those affected by women’s cancers, this particular event has a strong community connection, attracting families and individuals to come together to walk and fundraise for the future of the women we love,” she said.
