Sandra Reeves started New Vintage in her lounge room in 2013 and has seen it grow into a thriving CBD shopfront offering customers unique and exclusive options in furniture and homewares.

The Bundaberg business recently moved into the heart of the city, on Barolin Street, providing customers easier access.

“Our business began in 2013 when I was wanting to do something that was heart fulfilling and worked around the needs of our four young children,” Sandra said.

“I am all about restoring and restyling pieces of furniture. Furniture from a time where it was fixed and fixed again, not thrown out.

“I am passionate about learning how to gain new skills in painting, making signs, crafting up a storm with decoupage and stencils and using low-tox paint to have an enjoyable experience.”

New home for New Vintage

After starting at home, Sandra moved out of the lounge room and expanded into her purpose built, three-bay garage before moving into a quaint shopfront upstairs in the Palace Arcade.

“Last week we opened in our new location on Barolin Street and as per always, Bundaberg has been nothing but supportive,” Sandra said.

“Starting a business from scratch and growing our local and online business through social media has been an amazing journey and one for which I am very grateful to the local community.

“Our CBD is a beautiful place to shop and work.”

Sandra said her point of difference was offering unique pieces for the home as well as special paints for restoration projects.

“We are Bundaberg’s exclusive stockist of specialty furniture paints and the wholesalers of Sweet Pickins Milk Paint in Australia and New Zealand,” she said.

“We also offer workshops of these products and teach clients how to successfully paint their own furniture.”

Sandra said she had also added some new features to her business.

“We have added ethically sourced and handmade homewares and support Australian made as much as possible,” she said.

“Come into the shop to enquire about what is on next, and to experience the treasures in each nook.”
