It’s that time of year — the 2019 Bundaberg Show has arrived and is set to provide residents with three full-on days of non-stop fun and entertainment!

The giant Ferris wheel is up, the fairy floss is fresh and the pavilion is packed to the rafters with crafts and goods.

There will be plenty to see, do and taste from Wednesday to Friday with delicious show treats, adrenaline-pumping rides, exhibits and more.

Don’t forget to go ringside to catch all of the action with the horses and stud cattle.

Or if that’s not your cup of tea, the pavilions are full of marvellous creations from crochet to cakes of all kinds.

Cakes, cakes and more cakes

Shirley Baldwin knows a thing or two about cakes.

The Bundaberg woman has been a judge in the cake-making section of the show for many years and said her passion for cooking took off over four decades ago.

“I started competitive cooking in the CWA and then with the shows in 1980,” she said.

“I did this for many many years and then I felt that I had reached my limit so I decided to take on judging.

“I have been all over Queensland to judge, I get a lot of pleasure out of it.”

Shirley said this year’s show had seen almost 400 cake-making entries through the doors of the pavilion.

“That includes 26 iced cakes which is up on previous years,” she said.

“They look absolutely amazing. People need to stop by the pavilion just to see how they fantastic they are.”
