I’ve still got Magic Round Hang Over if that is a thing. I consider myself very lucky to be a part of the Saturday games and experience it first hand.
Being a proud Queenslander, our state was on show.
The NRL announced its numbers for the magic round. Here they are as follows:
- Total crowds of 134,677 were recorded across the four days (an average of 33,699 per day).
- Approximately one quarter of ticket holders were from interstate.
- Ticket purchasers came from 10 countries outside Australia and New Zealand including the US, the UK and France.
- About 10, 000 children were engaged through 23 schools and junior club visits by NRL players.
What a great success and the positive feedback from the fans will see this great initiative carry on next year.
Round 10: Dragons v Knights
This is a tricky round in my opinion, but my match of the round is the Dragons v Knights.
This week they take the game to rural areas. This game is being played in Mudgee. The knights will consider this as a home game due to how close it is to the Hunter Valley.
The Knights are on a roll and are chasing four wins in a row and the Dragons are trying to the break a two game losing streak. It’s 9 v 10.
Paul McGregor has named an unchanged side and have given them a chance to redeem themselves.
The Knights just need to keep doing what they are doing. Ponga and Pearce were fantastic last week. I’m backing my former team in the Knights to beat the Dragons.
My upset of the round, is the Broncos v Roosters.
The Broncos are at home. Can they go back to back with wins against the premiership favourites? I think they can.
“Come on you Broncos!”
The Roosters have a lot of injuries but they have shown their depth. Their inspirational captain Boydner has been ruled out this week.
