Walkers, strollers and riders will soon have a new stretch of pathway to travel at Moore Park Beach, with work now under way on Murdochs Road.
Bundaberg Regional Council has appointed Christensen Industries Pty Ltd as Principal Contractor to undertake the construction of the 1km concrete footpath.
Roads and Drainage portfolio spokesperson Cr Bill Trevor said work was part of Council’s 2018- 2019 Pathways Program with the new path set to be complete by June.
“The pathway was identified on Council’s Multi Modal Pathway Strategy and completes the section of Murdochs Road from Palm View Drive to Moore Park Road,” Cr Trevor said.
“This continues a significant investment in pathway infrastructure for the township of Moore Park which allows residents and visitors to be active and enjoy the wonderful natural elements the area has to offer.”
Moore Path Beach community benefits
Divisional representative Cr Jason Bartels said the pathway would be of great benefit to locals and visitors alike.
“This completed section will provide benefit to the community by creating connectivity to the shopping complex located on the corner of Murdochs Road and Moore Park Road,” Cr Bartels said.
“It also encourages people to be active and engage with their community by connecting them to existing pathway infrastructure on Palm View Drive and Moore Park Road which both connect through to the Esplanade.”
Construction activities are expected to be carried out between the hours of 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 6am to 3pm on Saturdays.
