Monday was not only the first day of the April school holidays, it also saw Gin Gin come alive with YouthFest Gin Gin kicking off Youth Month 2019.
More than 250 people came out and enjoyed a lovely autumn day with a range of services, displays and activities set up for all to enjoy.
Visitors from far and wide commented on the friendliness of the Gin Gin community and how they were welcomed to get involved in the day.
The community took part in virtual reality and robotics activities, chilled out and learnt some valuable health facts.
They also made origami hearts, stress balls, beading, cooking and taste and memory testing, watched judo and dance displays, learnt more about scouts, archery and enjoyed the rides and barbecue on site.
Council launched the “We are more than you think” project and young people helped decorate and name the Youth Development and Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre cow.
A great day was had by all. For more information on other planned youth month activities check out www.bundaberg.qld.gov.au/youth
