The National Veteran Vehicle Rally is coming to Moore Park Beach on Saturday, 21 September.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s Community Grants Program has provided $3500 to the Moore Park Beach Community Association for the hire of staging, audio and stage lighting for the Moore Park Beach Veteran Car Rally Festival.
Association president Shanelle Pekin said the grant was very welcome.
“We are delighted that the Council has granted us these funds towards the staging of our Festival,” Shanelle said.
“It will be a true community event and we look forward to welcoming people from around the region and beyond.”
Moore Park Beach has been allocated a day of the National Veteran Vehicle Rally, which is being hosted in the Bundaberg Region in September.
Veteran Car Rally participants will tour Cross Family Farms, where they will enjoy morning tea, then head out to Moore Park Beach Tavern parklands for lunch.
The public is invited along to inspect the cars, which will be on display in the car park.
The Festival will begin at 1pm, with live music, food and refreshments throughout the afternoon.
“It’s going to be a great afternoon and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Moore Park Beach on Saturday, 21st September to inspect the amazing veteran cars, which are at least 100 years old, and enjoy an afternoon of music and entertainment,” Shanelle said.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s divisional representative Jason Bartels said it was terrific that a relatively small grant could make such a big difference to the viability of an event.
“This is a real highlight for Moore Park Beach and I encourage everyone to support the Festival in September,” he said.
“Congratulations to the organisers on putting together a fantastic program.”
