Kalki Moon’s award-winning Navy Strength gin.

Kalki Moon won gold at the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards for its Navy Strength Gin. The awards were presented in Melbourne last night.

The Bundaberg distillery won gold at the same awards last year in the London Dry category.

Founded by former Bundaberg Rum master distiller Rick Prosser, Kalki Moon is family owned and operated.

Rick said he was proud to win the prestigious award.

“The Navy is a lot stronger in alcohol and flavour than other gins,” he said.

“It’s a very hard balance to get right. When i designed it I tried to use very traditional English botanicals and leave out our locals. It does however have a great hit of Bundaberg ginger.”

The distillery recently expanded its premises and currently employs six people in the family business.

“Sales are going very well with our products through most Queensland independent bottle shops and nationally in 90 Dan Murphy stores,” Rick said.

The Navy Gin is hard to get!

According to the Kalki Moon website, it’s out of stock online but you can contact the distillery if you want some.

“The biggest and the boldest member of the Kalki Moon gin family, our navy gin comes in at a respectable 57% alcohol,” the description says.

“Big and full of juniper, heavy on the Angelica and Liquorice root, and finally Bundaberg ginger for spice.

“Our navy strength gin is the ultimate in a classic gin and tonic or soda. One of the smoothest navy strength gins to ever be released.”

We are proud to announce that our Navy Strength Gin has taken out Gold at The Australian Distilled Spirits Awards held…
