With Valentine’s Day upon us, celebrate love a little differently with the array of activities on offer for Library Lovers Day!
The Gin Gin Library is all loved up with several themed events taking place from today until 16 February.
Library Love Stories
Kick off your day with Library Love Stories, their new monthly Story Time segment, from 9.30 am – 10.30 am.
Blind date with a book
Library members are invited to step out of their comfort zone and have a ‘blind date’ with a book. Books are wrapped up in brown paper… Take one home and see what happens!
Book recommendations
Leave a written recommendation for books you’ve fallen in love with and pick up a new one.
Shadow puppet show
Express yourself by creating your own fun and engaging shadow puppet show – make up a new story or tell an old one.
Story competition
This year the Australian Library and Information Association is hosting a 200 word flash fiction story competition.
Story entries must include love, libraries and begin with the sentence ‘there was love to be found in the library’.
The rest is only limited by your imagination!
