Health foundation seeks community members

Community members passionate about health services in the Wide Bay Burnett are encouraged to consider a board position for the region’s Health Services Foundation.

Partners In Care Together, the official charity for Wide Bay Health, is seeking Expressions of Interest for honorary board member appointments.

The Foundation supports local hospitals and their auxiliaries in identifying and funding initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of patients and their families.

Foundation Chair Trish Mears said people from throughout the Wide Bay Health footprint were encouraged to apply.

“This is a rewarding position for individuals who are interested in, and are able to help achieve, the Foundation’s objectives,” Trish said.

Partners in Care Together supports all hospitals in the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Services area: Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Monto, Biggenden, Gayndah, Eidsvold, Gin Gin, Mt Perry, Agnes Water, Mundubbera and Childers.

“Some of our board members are coming to the end of their terms and we would love to see people from around the region on the Board, to represent their communities”.

The Foundation makes a significant impact through raising funds to improve local health services in all areas and providing educational programs for hospital staff.

In Bundaberg, the Foundation assist to provide affordable accommodation on the grounds of Bundaberg Hospital for patients and their families from around the Wide Bay having treatment in Bundaberg.

The Foundation also provide volunteer-based patient support programs and patient transport services.
