Find local service in Anzac Day 2024 booklet

Anzac Day 2024

The 2024 Anzac Day Civic Service to be held in Bundaberg's Buss Park this Thursday from 8.30 am.

Anzac Day services will be held across the region on April 25 and Council has worked with RSL sub branches and community organisations to combine the details in a regional booklet.

Bundaberg Regional Council is again hosting a Civic Service in partnership with the Bundaberg RSL sub branch committee to commemorate Anzac Day at Buss Park.

Following local tradition, the Guests of Honour, representing all serving and ex-service members are invited to take the salute, accompanied by the Mayor at the official Dias.

Mayor Helen Blackburn said this year The Bundaberg and District Women Veterans would lead the Civic Service parade in recognition of the local RSL sub branch committee’s Guest of Honour Jenny Waldron.

“As we gather to honour and remember all of those who have served our nation, this year’s Anzac Day Civic Service pays special tribute to the remarkable contributions of women in service,” Mayor Blackburn said.

“From nurses on the front lines to those who served in combat roles their service is a testament to their resilience and commitment to our nation.

“Their legacy serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the importance of unity, courage, and sacrifice in the face of adversity.”

Each year, Council creates a free booklet to help the community find a local service and commemorate the day with a digital and print program.

The booklet provides the community information on each service being held, the order of services, associated events and hymns and anthems.

In addition, the booklet includes a special reflection covering the Civic Service Guest of Honour and Women Veterans Association Vice President Jenny Waldron.

The 2024 digital booklet is available for download here.

Print booklets are being distributed across the region and will be available at local services.
