The Moncrieff Entertainment Centre team members are a multiskilled group using their talents in a variety of ways to ensure they deliver a high level of customer service.

Their motto, “The show must go on – no matter what it takes“, has supported them in successfully delivering 13 major events which attracted more than 4,700 patrons during April.

Made up of eight core staff, a trainee and a pool of invaluable casual staff, the team works in various roles behind the scenes, backstage and front of house.

They cover all areas of operation from taking venue hire enquiries, programming productions, liaising with clients on technical aspects, box office ticketing to serving in the bar/ candy bar, ushering, selling artist merchandise, and a whole lot more.

Manager Moncrieff Entertainment Centre Paul Dellit OAM said the team successfully managed an enormous workload in recent weeks.

“We had more than 3,500 patrons through the venue last week alone,” Paul said.

“This included big name performances such as singer Jessica Mauboy, comedians Isaac Butterfield and Jimmy Rees, country singer Brad Cox and the screening of a free school holiday movie.

“Communication is paramount when you have a busy week with five major events it is all hands on deck with everyone helping each other when needed.

“Usually this is selling tickets in the box office, serving in the bar at interval or ushering patrons to their seats.”

The Moncrieff’s quarterly foyer exhibitions are a new addition in recent years and are attracting more people to the venue.

“Our free foyer exhibitions always attract regular drop-ins during the day,” Paul said.

“Then, of course, when we have a film screening or live performance, the potential audience for these exhibitions swells considerably.

“Currently we have an exhibition titled Our View curated by the Bundaberg Photographic Group Inc.

“A mix of 16 very individual prize-winning photos are on display until the end of June.

“Our next foyer exhibition will coincide with NAIDOC Week and will feature artworks from several local First Nations artists.”
